Philip Kaufman is a writer and director of films such as The Right Stuff, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. He was born in Chicago in 1936 and attended Harvard Law School. He won the Prix de la Nouvelle Critique at Cannes in 1965 for his film Goldstein.
