  3. Peter Berresford Ellis is the pre-eminent Celtic scholar now writing. Since his first publication in 1968 he has received several awards for his work. He was chairman of the Celtic League from 1988 to 1990, and in 2002 he was only the second writer to be made an Honorary Life Member of the Irish Literary Society, founded in 1891 by W B Yeats.
