Shy Child formed in the summer of 2000, when former college friends Pete Cafarella and Nate Smith separately moved to New York City. The duo shared a love for progressive rock and electronic music, and started playing music together in an attempt to create a fusion of the genres.
Shy Child Biography by Kenyon Hopkin. Pete Cafarella (keyboard, vocals) and Nate Smith (drums), both former members of El Guapo, formed Shy Child just after the two moved to New York City. Cafarella had also previously worked with composer Anthony Braxton, while Smith had played drums with Touchdown (Troubleman Records).
