In 1994, McShee formed a new band named Jacqui McShee's Pentangle which, with a few personnel changes, is still performing today. In 1995, McShee performed as a session singer, along with her husband, drummer Gerry Conway, on the album Active in The Parish by the singer-songwriter David Hughes. It was voted Q magazine's 'Album of the Year'.

The Pentangle grew out of the partnership of folk guitarists Bert Jansch & John Renbourn.The group drew critical and popular acclaim for their unique combination of Blues, Folk, Jazz and Rock styles, but the inspirational spark which marked their first albums faded and the musicians disbanded in 1973. The original group reunited in the early 80's and recorded Open the Door.
