The term “Pennsylvania Gov ernor’s School” refers to a program receiving state financial support or receiving official endorsement from the state through non-financial in-kind services due to budgetary restraints. Only endorsed Pennsylvan ia Governor’s Schools may use the title and the Governor’s Schools logo for advertising.
The Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts (PGSA) was one of the Pennsylvania Governor's Schools of Excellence, a group of five-week summer academies for gifted high school students in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The school was hosted each summer first by Bucknell University, then by Mercyhurst College .

How to Audition. Students must audition or present a visual arts portfolio for acceptance into The Governor's School for the Arts (GSA). All current 8th - 11th grade students are eligible to apply. We welcome students of all interests, races/ethnicities, gender identities, experience levels, and all socio-economic backgrounds. Watch!

A better question might be “what can’t I study at Governor’s School?” Enrolled students have the opportunity to explore a rich variety of subjects in the performing arts, humanities, and STEM fields. Some students study music or acting, while others focus on technology or math.
