Pauline Oliveros (born May 30, 1932, Houston, Texas, USA - died November 25, 2016) was an American composer, performer and author. In the early 1960's, Oliveros, along with Morton Subotnick and Ramon Sender, formed the San Francisco Tape Music Center, and there, she began her pioneering work with electronics and tape.In performances, Pauline Oliveros used an accordion which had been re-tuned ...
En 1988, Pauline Oliveros adopta el término Deep Listening como resultado de un experimento sonoro llevado a cabo en el interior de una cisterna abandonada en Fort Worden (Washington), donde la reverberación era de 45 segundos. Deep Listening se convirtió en una estética basada en la improvisación, la música electrónica y la meditación.
