Patrick Lavon Mahomes II (born September 17, 1995) is an American football quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). The son of former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher Pat Mahomes , he played college football and baseball at Texas Tech .

He became one of the premier players in the National Football League early in his career after being named the league’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) in his second season.
