Although Straight Shooter and Passin’ Thru, two subpar albums released back-to-back in 1972, proved unsuccessful in growing the group’s fan base, Walsh’s shoes remained difficult to replace. In order to join the Guess Who , Troiano left the group, leaving the James Gang’s guitar position open once more.

11 de feb. de 2007 · With Joe Walsh having decided to pursue a solo career, 1972's "Passin' Thru" was the second studio set by the Jim Fox, Roy Kenner, Dale Peters, and Domenic Troiano James Gang line-up. Co-produced by the band and Keith Olsen, if you were looking for something on a par with the band's first three classic releases, this was probably going to be a disappointment.
