John Henry Creach, better known as Papa John Creach, was an American blues violinist, who has also played "classical, jazz, be-bop, R&B, pop and acid rock" music. Early in his career he played with Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Stuff Smith, and Charlie Christian as well as Big Joe Turner, T-Bone Walker, Nat King Cole and Roy Milton.
Learn about the life and career of Papa John Creach, one of the most prominent blues violinists from the 20th century. He played with the Jefferson Airplane, Hot Tuna, and other bands, and won the W. C. Handy award for outstanding blues musician in 1993. He died in 1994 at age 76.
