He made Painting Signs mostly in England and was joined by some notable musicians who go back to the 1960s British blues days, including bassist Dave Bronze, who worked with members of Deep Purple, guitarist Robbie McIntosh formerly of Paul McCartney's Wings and the Pretenders, and drummer Henry Spinetti, who worked in Eric Clapton's band.

As a long-term member of The Pretenders, Robbie played at Live Aid in 1985 and on their top-10 UK hit, Don’t Get Me Wrong.
Robbie McIntosh (born 25 October 1957) is an English guitarist. McIntosh is best known as a session guitarist and member of The Pretenders from 1982 until 1987. In 1988 he began doing session guitar work for Paul McCartney joining his band full-time until early 1994.
