Released on June 19, 1988, the record had some hype to it.

Outrider is an album by Jimmy Page, released by Geffen Records on 21 June 1988. It is his only solo studio album and the first time since 1969 he has recorded with a record label other than Atlantic Records/Swan Song Records. Page recorded the music at his personal studio The Sol. Robert Plant guests on one track, "The Only One", while John Bonham's son Jason plays drums.
7 de dic. de 2006 · I have been reading these reviews totally slamming this album. Like Robert Plant, Jimmy Page is NOT Led Zeppelin, these two are halves of the whole that was Led Zeppelin. If that is what you want to hear, PLAY A ZEPPELIN ALBUM for God's sake! I bought this album when it first came out and loved it for what it was.
An almost Led Zeppelin song, “The Only One” is the best track in “Outrider”. Robert Plant’s guest appearance is the only example of what this album could actually be if handled only with great singers. The killer chorus and amazing guitar riff in this hard rocking number really feels like something that could’ve been in LZ II

The album showcases Page's unique style that charmed the pants off of Zep fans for a decade.
