James Beck Gordon (July 14, 1945 – March 13, 2023) was an American musician, songwriter, and convicted murderer. Gordon was a session drummer in the late 1960s and 1970s and was the drummer in the blues rock supergroup Derek and the Dominos.

Out Of The Storm was recorded in 1974. Steve had met Jack during the recording of Lou Reed's Berlin album. They hit it off well and Jack Bruce later asked Steve to play on Out Of The Storm. Steve has great memories of working with Jack, Jim Gordon and Jim Keltner.
Recorded in the USA with local musicians: guitarist Steve Hunter and drummers Jim Kilter and Jim Gordon, it was another glorious cooperation with poet Pete Brown which produced some of Jack's most memorable songs.
