Either way fits better with Gilmour's "Not many Pink Floyd fans like this track" comment. It also feels thematically similar to (or, at least, thematically resonate with) Political World, which if I'm not mistaken kick-started a lot of the songwriting that wound up on Oh Mercy, which Dylan started recording three or four months after Delicate Sound of Thunder came out.
