Oleg Prokofiev (1928-1998) was a prominent artist, sculptor and a poet. Son of the great Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev, he was born in Paris but at the age of seven returned with his parents to Moscow. Oleg Prokofiev studied art at the Moscow School of Art from 1944 to 1947. On completing his studies, Prokofiev worked in the studio of the painter Robert Falk, leaving in 1952 to work for the Institute of Art History in Moscow.

Oleg Prokofiev (1928–1998) University of Surrey. Artist and writer, born in Paris. From 1936–71 he lived in Moscow, then moved to England, settling in southeast London, becoming a full-time artist. Studied at Moscow Art School, 1944–7, from 1949–52 working in the studio of the painter R Falk.
