“Old no.1” is more conscious and present, having less of the dreamy atmosphere that consecrated Townes or Newbury’s body of work. Of course, it isn’t a fully down to earth experience (the album is strongly rooted in the remembrance of the past and its downs), but it succeeds to resonate with the modern man, because it leans on facts met in everyday’ s life.
