Communication Studies. The Department of Communication Studies explores the social, political and cultural functions of communication as it occurs in diverse settings ranging from interpersonal interaction to global media.
The School of Communication offers a variety of program options, which can be combined to pursue your academic interests and career goals. In addition to the majors, minors and certificates, our modules are additional programs of study that include coursework, pre-professional experiences and a capstone project.
Our graduate and professional programs offer advanced degree options, including masters, PhD and clinical doctorates. Some are interdepartmental or interdisciplinary. Learn more about the Communication Studies offerings for undergraduate students. Communication Studies Major Students majoring in Communication Studies will learn to analyze organizational, cultural, interpersonal and mass media communication.
