North Cestrian School, formerly North Cestrian Grammar School, is a free school in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, England, for pupils aged between 11 and 16. North Cestrian is part of the Hamblin Educational Trust.
Welcome to North Cestrian School. The School’s Mission Statement is for its pupils to thrive and to go on to lead rich and fulfilling lives, underpinned by the values of hard work, fairness and honesty.
In 2016, North Cestrian became an Academy Free School. The vision was to provide a forward-thinking, inclusive, non-selective school for the local community, whilst building on the school’s independent grammar traditions.
Welcome to the Admissions section of North Cestrian School. Admissions for entry into Year 7 are coordinated by Trafford School Admissions. Admissions for all other years of entry are coordinated by our Admissions Department. Please see the right-hand menu for further information.
Curriculum & setting. Year 10 & 11. Subject choices are made by students in Year 9. Each student is interviewed by the Headmaster and Deputy Head to help them make the appropriate pathway. Student takes between 8 and 10 Key Stage 4 qualifications. The other forms have the standard 9 GCSE package.
