25 de sept. de 2019 · Their leader, Nicola Mauskovic, is chiefly responsible for their musical direction, and recently took the time to educate us on how an Afro-Colombian response to Afrobeat music formed a hybrid style that resonated deeply with him, during the creation of Dance Place Garage, from the eponymous debut album released earlier this year.
Biography. The Mauskovic Dance Band is the brainchild of Nicola Mauskovic- Amsterdam based producer and Music maker. Combining elements of Cumbia, Afro-Caribean rhythms, & Psychedelia in equal measure to create a unique hypnotic groove, The Mauskovic Dance Band has become a staple of festival stages and sketchy nightclubs across Europe since 2016.
What else can you ask for? In just a couple of years the band has released singles, Eps and their first LP this year on Soundway Records. In the middle of their extensive tour they came to Barcelona to play at BAM festival and I got the chance to interview their brainchild: Nicola Mauskovic, an Amsterdam based producer and multi-instrumentalist.
