Nick Flynn (born January 26, 1960) is an American writer, playwright, and poet. Life and career. Nick Flynn was raised by his mother in Scituate, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston . Flynn had no contact with his father throughout most of his childhood and adolescence as his parents separated when he was six months old. [1] .
Nick Flynn is a critically acclaimed author and artist who has published twelve books, including memoirs, poetry, and a play. He has been awarded fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the Library of Congress, and is on the creative writing faculty at the University of Houston. His work explores the tenuous membrane between our comfortable, everyday existence and the ragged margins of society.

Nick Flynn is a poet and memoirist who explores his family life, trauma, and social issues in his poetry and prose. He has won the PEN/Joyce Osterweil Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award for his debut collection Some Ether (2000). He also teaches creative writing at the University of Houston and splits his time between Houston and Brooklyn.
