Nick Joicey is the Second Permanent Secretary and Group Chief Operating Officer at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Chief Operating Officer at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). He was previously the Director General for Strategy, EU Exit and Finance at Defra and the Director General for Strategy, International, Food and Farming at Defra.
Nicholas Joicey is a former civil servant who worked for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) for 37 years. He has a degree from the University of Cambridge and is now the Chief Executive of the Greater Manchester Integrated Care Partnership.
Reeves is married to Nicholas Joicey, a civil servant and Gordon Brown's former private secretary and speech writer. The couple have homes in Leeds and London. Reeves announced her first pregnancy on 20 September 2012, and gave birth to a daughter, and later a son, in 2015.
