Thomas Harold Amer (29 September 1923 – 17 November 2019), known professionally as Nicholas Amer, was an English stage, film and television actor known for his performances in William Shakespeare's plays. Amer made his professional debut in 1948 playing the part of Ferdinand in The Tempest.
Nicholas Amer (1923-2019) was a British actor who performed in 31 countries and appeared in films such as The Message, Treasure Island and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. He also taught at drama schools in London, Sydney and Cairo and played many roles in Shakespeare's plays.
Nicholas Amer was born Thomas Harold Amer in Birkenhead, Merseyside, England in 1923. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the Royal Navy and served as a wireless officer for four years during World War II. He saw plenty of action, serving mainly on Motor Torpedo Boats, at first in North Africa.

Nicholas Amer was a British actor who appeared in films and TV shows from 1976 to 2012. He is best known for his roles in The Draughtsman's Contract, Treasure Island, and Midsomer Murders.
