The two first crossed paths at a late-night jam session at the New York club, The Scene, between March 6th and March 7th 1968.
At the time of his 1968 portrait session with photographer Yale Joel in New York, Morrison and his bandmates had released two albums (featuring hits such as “Light My Fire,” “People Are Strange” and “Love Me Two Times”), and were about to record a third, Waiting for the Sun.
