Neil Merryweather (born Robert Neilson Lillie, December 27, 1945 – March 28, 2021) was a Canadian rock singer, bass player and songwriter. He recorded and performed with musicians such as Steve Miller, Dave Mason, Lita Ford, Billy Joel and Rick James and released catalogue of albums.
Neil's art explores elements of life, both real and imagined, industrial and space-aged. His artistic goal was to share his curiosity boldly with color, humor and whimsy. Neil was a musician known for his versatile contributions to the rock music scene beginning in the 1960's.

He fronted Merryweather for two 1969 albums on Capitol, formed the soul-rock band Mama Lion, and the backing band Space Rangers. He also worked with Lynn Carey, Rick James, and other west coast musicians.
Born to a single mother in Winnipeg Canada on December 27, 1945. He became Neil Merryweather after a chance encounter with Linda Ronstadt on the steps of Capitol Records in Los Angeles, in the late 60”s. Though Neil was known primarily as an innovative musician, art was never far away.
