Necessary Angels are a group of more than 300 people who supported Sara in her efforts to purchase back her album of the same name. Sara decided to continue to pay it forward to the list of organizations below. Not only does Sara raise funds for these groups, she has also been active in volunteering with them.

Necessary Angels is the third album by the American singer-songwriter Sara Hickman, released in 1994 (see 1994 in music). After Hickman was dropped by her label, Elektra Records, her fans contributed to allow her to buy back the unreleased tapes that made up the album.

Originally intended as a 25th anniversary celebration of the release of Necessary Angels, these tracks were begun by Flora & Fawna (aka Lili Hickman and Mason Ables) in 2019. The idea was to have Flora & Fawna approach the songs in their style and with their touch.
