12 de abr. de 2019 · Nazz Nazz’s opening track, “Forget All About It” is a kind of proto-progressive power pop, with unusual phrasing, high energy arrangement and carefully crafted massed vocal choruses. In the 1990s, North Carolina group Gladhands recorded a faithful cover of the song, reminding those who heard it just how forward-thinking Nazz had been.

Nazz formed in 1967 when two former members of Woody's Truck Stop, guitarist Todd Rundgren and bassist Carson Van Osten, left to join with drummer Thom Mooney and singer/keyboardist Robert "Stewkey" Antoni. The band recorded two albums, Nazz in 1968 and Nazz Nazz in 1969, before Van Osten and Rundgren quit, the latter having a successful solo career. ...

11 de mar. de 2024 · About Nazz. The Pennsylvania-based psychedelic-pop band the Nazz were led by guitarist/songwriter Todd Rundgren and singer Stewkey. Named after a Lord Buckley beatnik monologue about Jesus, they had a hit with “Open My Eyes,” a sonic cousin of the Who's “Can't Explain” that also marked the band as first-generation power-poppers.
