Nathan Abshire (June 27, 1913 – May 13, 1981) was an American Cajun accordion player. His time in the U.S. Army inspired Abshire to write the crooner song "Service Blues", which the newspaper Daily World reported as "one of his most memorable tearjerkers".

He played accordion and guitar, and his music was influenced by western swing and old-time button accordion. He worked at various jobs, collected used objects, and became a celebrated figure of Cajun culture.
Nathan Abshire was a pioneer of blues and honky tonk influences in Cajun music, playing accordion and singing in French and English. He recorded several singles and albums, but struggled with poverty and alcoholism until his death in 1981.
Nathan Abshire was an American Cajun accordion player who wrote "Service Blues" and "Pine Grove Blues". He recorded for Victor in 1935 and performed at the Newport Folk Festival in 1964.
