The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) is a US-based non-profit organization composed of civilian volunteers who study reported UFO sightings. It is one of the oldest and largest organizations of its kind, claiming more than 4,000 members worldwide with chapters and representatives in more than 43 countries and all 50 United States.

La Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) es una organización internacional sin fines de lucro dedicada al estudio científico de los ovnis en beneficio de la humanidad, desde 1969. Es una de las organizaciones investigadoras del tema OVNI más antiguas y grandes de Estados Unidos y del mundo.
MUFON officially began on May 31, 1969. At that time it was known as the Midwest UFO Network. As it outgrew the Midwestern state boundaries to become a world class UFO organization, the name was changed to Mutual UFO Network. That allowed the acronym MUFON to remain as the organization matured.
