In addition to presenting all-star rock and soul concerts at the historic Brooklyn Fox Theater, Murray The K hosted a legendary star-studded 1965 special, It’s What’s Happening Baby. The show featured live, onstage performances by some of the greatest soul, rock and R&B artists of the 20th century.

"It's What's Happening, Baby" changed the face of television in 1965. It combined rock 'n' roll, exterior locations, and black, white, and Latino performers during a two-hour show that thrilled a generation of teenagers... and outraged the U. S. Congress.
In the mid-1960s, Murray also produced and hosted television variety shows featuring rock performers. The best known was a national broadcast entitled It's What's Happening, Baby which was made under the auspices of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
