Mount St. Helens (known as Lawetlat'la to the indigenous Cowlitz people, and Loowit or Louwala-Clough to the Klickitat) is an active stratovolcano located in Skamania County, Washington,  in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It lies 52 miles (83 km) northeast of Portland, Oregon,  and 98 miles (158 km) south of Seattle.

El Monte Santa Helena  (en inglés Mount St. Helens) es un estratovolcán activo ubicado en el condado de Skamania, en el estado de Washington, en la región del Pacífico Noroccidental de Estados Unidos.
Mount St. Helens is primarily an explosive dacite volcano with a complex magmatic system. The volcano was formed during four eruptive stages beginning about 275,000 years ago and has been the most active volcano in the Cascade Range during the Holocene.
