The group released two singles from the soundtrack, Music from Monkey Grip EP, "Boys in Town", which reached No. 8 on the national singles chart, and "Only Lonely".

With the "Monkey Grip" EP, Divinyls busted onto the scene with a bang. It's loud and fierce and angry and desperate, yet melodic and accessible. Some of these tunes appeared on the first LP, "Desperate," but the versions here are slightly different. "Gonna Get You" and "Girlfriends" are not available on any of the LPs, and are both grade A cuts.
