Na enkele mindere albums (al dan niet door zijn drankverslaving) revancheert hij zich met sterk songmateriaal en de hulp van Ry Cooder. Het is een prettig en evenwichtig album geworden dat tevens vrij sober is geproduceerd waar dat de daaropvolgende albums te vaak gekenmerkt worden door overproductie.
