15 de oct. de 2018 · Modigliani often rejected the ideas of classical painting, but instead of disciplining his pupil, Micheli encouraged Amedeo's experimentation with different styles. After two years of success as a student, Modigliani contracted tuberculosis, which disrupted his artistic education and perhaps his entire life's trajectory: a mere 19 years later, the disease would claim his life.

Franco Modigliani (18 June 1918 – 25 September 2003) was an Italian-American economist and the recipient of the 1985 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics. He was a professor at University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign , Carnegie Mellon University , and MIT Sloan School of Management .

Almost a century after the two men met in 1914, this exhibition aims to revisit one of the iconic moments in Amedeo Modigliani’s life, the one in which Paul Guillaume became his dealer. It will focus on exploring the way in which links between the two characters may throw light on the artist’s career.
