Mistress America es una comedia ligera y con un existencialismo de andar por casa, bien armada, con alguna original ocurrencia, que muestra las contradicciones del ser humano: sus deseos de felicidad y su gran capacidad de ser infeliz, y en una situación u otra la necesidad de contar con compañía, algún tipo de consuelo para los momentos de tribulación, alguien con quien compartir la dicha.
