Todo en Mistress America parece una autoparodia, desde las protagonistas hasta el último de los personajes secundarios. Y cuando digo autoparodia me refiero a que es un estilo de comedia tan manoseado y petulante, que seguir por esa senda no lleva a nada más que remarcar sus clichés, su esnobismo, haciendo una caricaturización de la caricatura.
