Michael Ray Wilhelm (March 18, 1942 – May 14, 2019) was an American guitarist, singer and songwriter, best known as a founding member of the influential Bay Area band the Charlatans, who have been widely credited as starting the Haight-Ashbury psychedelic scene during the 1960s.
Mike Wilhelm, who played with the Charlatans, Loose Gravel and Flamin' Groovies, died on May 14, 2019 at 77. He was a master of blues, rock and Western swing, and influenced many musicians, including Jerry Garcia and John Cipollina.
Michael Peter Wilhelm is an American basketball coach, currently serving as an advance scout for the NBA's Chicago Bulls. He has also coached in Sweden and in the WNBA and has held scouting positions with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Denver Nuggets.
