Mike Seeger (August 15, 1933 – August 7, 2009) was an American folk musician and folklorist. He was a distinctive singer and an accomplished musician who played autoharp, banjo, fiddle, dulcimer, guitar, mouth harp, mandolin, dobro, jaw harp, and pan pipes.

Almost more than any other individual in the last sixty years, Mike Seeger (1933–2009) was a crusader for documenting, teaching, keeping alive, and carrying forth the sounds of traditional music of the American South.
Mike Seeger was a pioneer of bluegrass music as a producer, writer, and performer. He recorded and promoted many bluegrass artists, wrote about the genre, and played with the New Lost City Ramblers and Alice Gerrard.
