Michael William Gatting OBE (born 6 June 1957) is an English former cricketer, who played first-class cricket for Middlesex (1975–1998; captain 1983–1997) and for England from 1977 to 1995, captaining the national side in twenty-three Test matches between 1986 and 1988.
Mike Gatting was a right-handed top order batter and captain for England from 1977 to 1995. He scored 4409 runs in 79 Tests and 2095 runs in 92 ODIs, and led England to a surprise Ashes win in 1986-87.

Mike Gatting was an England batsman and captain who played 79 Tests and 92 ODIs between 1977 and 1993. He scored 10 Test centuries, led England to an Ashes victory in 1986-87, and was involved in several controversies and a rebel tour of South Africa.
