Born in Seattle in 1951, Derosier went through the more or less traditional musical evolution of the era: big bands on the family radiogram, clarinet at school, and the great moment when he sat down behind his first kit at the age of twelve.
Mike Derosier eventually joined Heart as full-time drummer. Some of the same Canadian investors who had backed the studio also backed a separate company called Mushroom Records, which was managed by Shelly Siegel.
Wilson's younger sister Nancy joined as rhythm guitarist the following year (and became romantically involved with Roger Fisher), while Hannah and Johnstone were replaced by Howard Leese and Michael Derosier, respectively, upon the band's signing with Mushroom Records in 1975.
Michael Derosier joined Heart during the recording of Heart’s first album, “Dreamboat Annie”, and is known for having one of the heaviest, most distinctive sounds and quickest feet behind the drums. Derosier is celebrated for his work on classic Heart hits such as Barracuda, Mistral Wind, and Straight On, among many others.
