18 de ago. de 2024 · Drummer Mick Underwood, best known for his work with Ian Gillan in Gillan, died on 28 July, after a long illness. Pictured left to right: Pete Robinson, John Gustafson, Mick Underwood. Born in the mid 40s, Mick started recording in the mid 60s, with some sessions and work with The Outlaws crossing paths with guitarist Ritchie Blackmore.
13 de ago. de 2024 · Mick Underwood 1945 – 2024. It was with great sadness that I heard the news of the passing of Mick Underwood. I had first witnessed his great style of drumming at the Park Hotel in Hanwell in 1963 where Jim Marshall would host gigs for his pupils and customers.

1 de sept. de 2024 · Mick Underwood, another old Episode Six man, succeeded Pete Barnacle on drums. With John McCoy on bass, the ‘classic’ Ian Gillan solo band line-up was complete. But to the spiky-haired hordes in gob-encrusted Britain, Gillan – as they were now known – looked like a bunch of ridiculous misfits.

Hace 4 días · Six's drummer Mick Underwood – an old comrade of Blackmore's from his days in the Outlaws – introduced the band to Gillan and bassist Roger Glover. According to Nick Simper, "Gillan would join only with Roger Glover."
