Real Name: Michael Shrieve. Profile: American drummer and electronic producer, born on July 6, 1949, in San Francisco. Brother of Kevin Shrieve. As a founding member of the Santana band he played on their first 8 albums, until 1974. He later became an electronic music producer, learning his craft whilst performing with Klaus Schulze.

He remained with the band through seven albums, reuniting with the original Santana lineup for 2016’s well-received Santana IV. But the drummer – a friend and protégé of jazz great Elvin Jones – has much more of note to his credit. Michael Shrieve turned 73 this month.
