Michael Haneke (n.23 martie 1942, München) este un regizor și scenarist austriac cunoscut pentru stilul său sumbru.Multiplu premiat la Festivalul Internațional de Film de la Cannes.Filmele sale tematizează adesea problemele și eșecurile societății moderne. Haneke a lucrat în televiziune, teatru, cinema. În afară de munca sa ca regizor, predă regie la "Filmacademy Viena".

He spent his adolescence in Wiener Neustadt in the care of his aunt and grandmother before leaving for Vienna to study psychology, philosophy, and drama. It would be some years before he made his first feature film.
Biografie (3) Michael Haneke se narodil 23. března 1942 v Mnichově, ale krátce poté se jeho rodina odstěhovala do Vídně. Oba jeho rodiče byli herci, a tak se i on sám snažil nejprve prosadit jako herec. Studoval filosofii, psychologii a drama na Vídeňské universitě; po absolvování se uchytil jako filmový kritik.
