I've only ever owned one other Aimee Mann album, the Magnolia film soundtrack which i love (this is better) but based on this i may delve deeper into her older portfolio & explore. Her voice isnt that distinctive but it's very soothing & she is a superbly emotive songwriter with a talent to match the likes of Joni Mitchell.
1 de feb. de 2017 · I received Mental Illness on Friday, and probably played it 10 times in the last 2 days. This one seems really special. Stylistically, this reminds me the most of Bachelor #2 (but generally a bit slower, less "commercial"), Magnolia (some of the tunes really seem like they'd fit in that album which contains some of my favorite Aimee tunes), and Lost in Space (though a bit less dark to me).
