Mel Collins. Mel Collins (5 September 1947) A member of The Storyville Shakers and Circus in the 1960s, he joined King Crimson in 1970. After the Islands band broke up in 1972, and a brief return to contribute to Red, he worked with a variety of bands and was a member of Camel from 1977 to 1984 and The Alan Parsons Project between 1982 and 1984.

Mel Collins. Mel Collins. Melvyn Desmond 'Mel' Collins ( Isle of Man, 5 september 1947) is een Brits musicus. Hij bespeelt alle soorten dwarsfluit, klarinet en ook bijna alle saxofoons . Hij werd geboren op het eiland Man, toen zijn vader (eveneens fluitist) en moeder (zangeres), rondtrokken en gedurende die zomer op dat eiland verbleven.
Melvyn Desmond "Mel" Collins (born 5 September 1947, Isle of Man) is a British saxophonist, flautist and session musician. Collins is perhaps best known for his work in progressive rock, having been a member of King Crimson on two separate occasions (the first from 1970 to 1972 and the second from 2013 to the present day) and having played with Camel, the Alan Parsons Project and Chris Squire.
