Mel Blount. Melvin Cornell Blount (born April 10, 1948) is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL) for fourteen seasons. A five-time Pro Bowler, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1989. [1]
Mel Blount was a dominant cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1970s, with 57 interceptions, 13 fumble recoveries, and four Super Bowl rings. He played 14 seasons, earned four All-Pro selections, and was named the NFL's most valuable defensive player in 1975.
