Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs ranked #1 overall in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Public Affairs Schools rankings. Maxwell has received this top honor in all but one of the years the rankings have been determined, which are based on a survey of the school’s peer institutions.
The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs was founded in 1924 as the first U.S. school dedicated to civic engagement and preparing students for careers in public service. While officially becoming a graduate school by 1938, Maxwell remained the home for Syracuse University’s undergraduate teaching in the social sciences.
