4 de jun. de 2019 · Max Mathews shared that vision not in the last decade but in 1965, when there were no home computers or capable plumbers to make “techno bangers” on them. Max Mathews made his computer sing one day in 1957. He wasn’t the first to accomplish the feat, but the event was for electronic music what the Trinity test was for nukes.
Max Mathews was a pioneering, central figure in computer music. After studying engineering at California Institute of Technology and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1954 Mathews went on to develop ‘Music 1’ at Bell Labs; the first of the ‘Music’ family of computer audio programmes and the first widely used program for audio synthesis and composition.
