Mauro Bolognini, né le 28 juin 1922 à Pistoia et mort le 14 mai 2001 à Rome, est un réalisateur, scénariste et metteur en scène italien.. Il est diplômé en architecture à l'université de Florence.Il s'installe ensuite à Rome et s'inscrit au Centro sperimentale di cinematografia, où il suit des cours de chef décorateur.Sa carrière s'oriente cependant vers la réalisation.
