Matt Bissonnette (born March 17, 1976) is a former United States Navy SEAL and author of No Easy Day, a book which he wrote using the pen name Mark Owen. The book chronicles his life and military service, but mostly is about his involvement with Operation Neptune Spear .

The investigation, led by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, expanded after Bissonnette voluntarily provided a hard drive with an unauthorized photo of bin Laden's body and found emails and records about his business ventures with companies that supply military equipment.
The book was written by Matt Bissonnette under the pen name Mark Owen. It details Owen's career with DEVGRU, including several combat missions in which he participated with the unit. At least half of the book focuses on Owen's participation in the mission that killed bin Laden.
