It's not clear if the movie is still in active development or not, but screenwriter Patrick Ness, who also wrote Chaos Walking, was previously confirmed to be crafting the script. https://screenrant.

The adventure drama will be screened on Monday, July 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
