Martin Hadden is a British chef, who won a Michelin star at both Ockenden Manor and The Priory House. He was the winner of the Roux Scholarship in 1989, and after leaving the kitchen at the Priory House in 2003 he went on to become Executive Chef for the Historic Sussex Hotels group.

Martin Hadden, otherwise known as Mame, would become the symbol of the band's conflicts and achievements. Purists would tirade that it was not "traditional" to incorporate electric bass in Celtic music.
In '76 Johnny's younger brother Phil takes over on accordion, and with Martin Hadden (bass, harmonium) the band enjoys a steady line-up (although Bob Thomas drops out at some point) and great success until his end on the half 80's.
